UGG® slippers and boots

Sheepskin that earns its keep

UGG built its name on genuine sheepskin that molds to your foot the more you wear it. What started as slippers and boots now runs from house shoes with real outsoles through waterproof winter boots. Fall mornings in Minnesota are exactly when people start reaching for them again.

Woman wearing UGG classic micro boots

Slippers, ankle boots, platform styles, and the full Classic line. Sheepskin-lined throughout, in the heights that carry you from September through the thaw.

UGG men's Tasman Baxter slippers

House shoes, slip-ons, and lugged styles built around the same sheepskin lining. Easy to wear from the back step to the driveway to the couch.

Comfort that regulates, not just insulates

Most people assume UGG is a January shoe. Wool is the reason it is not. Sheepskin fibers wick moisture and hold a stable temperature against the skin, so the same pair that works at 15 degrees also works on a 48-degree morning without cooking your feet by noon. That thermoregulation is the brand's actual engineering, and it is why fall is when most people start wearing them again.

The other half is what sits underfoot. A dense wool footbed cushions impact differently than foam does. It compresses under pressure, springs back slower, and spreads load across the whole foot rather than concentrating it at the heel. For anyone who spends a fall weekend standing on a sideline or walking a state park trail, that difference shows up by the end of the day.

Expert tip: the crossover styles are where this pays off most. A Tasman or Tazz gives you the footbed of a slipper with an outsole that handles a sidewalk, which is why they have quietly become most people's fall daily shoe.

UGG Slippers

The Tasman and Tazz families have quietly become outdoor shoes. Both carry a real rubber outsole, which is why people wear them to the coffee shop and not just the kitchen. Sizing note: these run closer to the foot than the boots, so size down if you are between.

UGG Boots

The Classic line is essentially one boot at four shaft heights. Ankle and low styles carry the fall, and the taller shafts take over when the snow does. If you need genuinely waterproof rather than water-resistant, the Adirondack Boot XXV Waterproof is built for it.

UGG Care

Sheepskin lasts a long time if you treat it early, and fall is when to do it. The Care Kit covers cleaning and conditioning, the Protector goes on before the first wear, and sheepskin insoles bring a packed-out pair back to life.

UGG Clogs

Sheepskin feel with a sole that handles a real surface. The Goldenstar Villa Clog and Chukka Lug both give you the lining without the house-shoe outsole. Worth trying if you have wide feet, since the clog shapes open up through the forefoot.

Why choose UGG at Schuler Shoes

UGG is sold nearly everywhere. What changes here is the help you get choosing.

  • Sizes. UGG sizing shifts as the lining packs down, and the Classic shafts run narrow through the midfoot. Our fit experts measure both feet and match you to the silhouette that suits your width, not just the one in the photo.

  • Service. Try four heights side by side, compare a soft sole against a lugged one, and walk out knowing why you picked what you picked. No guessing, no return shipping.

  • Selection. We carry the UGG styles that earn their place in a Minnesota year, from the ankle boots and crossover slippers that cover fall through the taller shafts built for deep winter, plus the care products and sheepskin insoles that keep every pair going.

What are UGG shoes good for?

Fall in Minnesota is when footwear changes for a specific reason: mornings drop into the forties while afternoons still climb, and the ground goes damp and stays damp. Sneakers soak through on wet grass and leaves, and a real winter boot is too much shoe for most of October. UGG sits in that gap. The sheepskin handles temperature swings without trapping heat, and the ankle- and low-boot heights give you coverage without commitment. By the time snow arrives, the taller Classic shafts and the waterproof styles take over. Most people end up owning one of each.

How UGG fits: cushioning, width, and arch support

The wool footbed is the defining feature. It cushions by compressing under load rather than rebounding like foam, which is why the feel is soft without being unstable. Fit runs true to size for most people, with one wrinkle: the lining packs down about a quarter inch over the first few weeks, so a snug first wear is usually correct. Width matters more than most people expect. The Classic boot shafts are cut fairly narrow through the midfoot, while the slip-on, clog and Tasman silhouettes open up through the forefoot. Sheepskin insoles add support underfoot for anyone who wants more than the stock footbed gives.

Fit note: if you land between sizes, size down in the slippers and up in the boots, and bring the socks you actually plan to wear. With UGG that single variable changes the answer more than it does in almost any other shoe. Our fit experts can measure both feet and sort it in a few minutes.

Try on UGG at Schuler Shoes

Height and width are hard to judge from a photo, and UGG sizing shifts as the lining packs down. Stop into any of our 10 Minnesota stores, try a few heights side by side, and let one of our Board Certified Pedorthists check the fit with the socks you plan to wear. You can also see which store has your size before you make the drive.

How to care for sheepskin so it lasts

Sheepskin is durable but it is not forgiving of neglect. Three habits cover most of it: brush the nap with a suede brush to keep the fibers standing, never dry a wet pair near a heat source, and give each pair a day to air out between wears. Sheepskin that never fully dries packs down faster and starts to hold odor, which is the real argument for rotating two pairs.

When something does get on them, dampen the whole panel rather than the spot. Treating a stain in isolation is how you trade one mark for a ring around it. Blot, air dry away from the radiator, then brush the nap back up once dry.

  • Fall is the protective season. Wet leaves are the thing people underestimate. Leaf tannins stain suede the same way tea stains a countertop, and a pair walked through a wet pile in October will carry brown patches all winter if nothing is done. Rain and mud behave similarly. Treat a new pair with a protector spray before the first wear, and knock damp debris off the same day rather than letting it dry in.

  • Winter is the repair season. Road salt is the harder problem. It draws moisture out of suede and leaves a white tidemark that sets if you let it dry in. Blot it with a damp cloth the day it happens, same whole-panel rule, then brush.

And if a pair has packed out to the point where it no longer feels right, a free foot evaluation can tell you whether it is the fit, the wear, or time for an insole.

UGG FAQs

Do UGGs run big or small?

True to size for most people, with the lining compressing about a quarter inch over the first few weeks. Snug on day one is usually right. Size down in slippers if you are between sizes, up in boots.

Are UGGs good for wide feet?

Often, yes, but it depends on the silhouette. Slip-ons, clogs and Tasman styles open up through the forefoot. The tall Classic shafts run narrower through the midfoot. Our team can put a few shapes in front of you and let your feet decide.

Can you wear UGG slippers outside?

The Tasman and Tazz families carry rubber outsoles and are made for it. Lugged versions handle rougher ground. Soft-sole styles are indoor shoes and will wear through on pavement.

Are UGGs waterproof?

Most classic suede styles are water-resistant, not waterproof. They handle a damp morning and wet leaves. For slush and standing water, look for a style that says waterproof on the spec.

How do I keep fall rain and leaf stains off my UGGs?

Protector spray before the first wear is the whole game. After that, knock damp leaves and mud off the same day and dampen the full panel rather than the spot so you do not leave a ring.
