Walk-ins welcome on race day
More than a race.
The 5k is the excuse. The morning is the point — a starting line full of sole sisters, a market full of women-owned brands, and a grant that sends one momboss home with real support behind her.
Run or walk
No clocks, no pressure, no last place. Sprint it, stroll it with coffee in hand, or talk the whole way with the woman next to you.
Smoothie bar & breakfast bites
Cross the line to a smoothie, hot coffee and something sweet, plus a DJ, a photo booth and a swag bag worth the early alarm.
Shop the Market
Twenty-plus women-owned Minnesota brands set up shop right where you finish. Real artisans, unique finds, and the woman behind every table. Bring a tote.
Crown a momboss
Three finalists share what they’re building. One walks away with the momboss Grant — real funding for her dreams, and the whole room behind her.
Why we run it.
Hear how the momboss 5k started, and why nine years in, it’s still the best morning of the year for a few hundred sole sisters.
Someone you know is building something.
Every year we hand a grant to one Minnesota mom who’s growing a business, a nonprofit, or an idea that makes her community better. Nominations open March 1, 2027 — finalists present live on race morning.
Shop women-owned, all morning.
Late May is a season of gift-giving, and Minnesota artisans have it covered. Shop the whole list in one morning, straight from the women who made it.
Roasted coffee, candles, hand cream, custom notecards, engraved tumblers, little potted plants.
Hot sauce and grilling rubs, cutting boards, leather wallets, lake-and-cabin tees, grooming kits.
Initial and birthstone jewelry, engraved keepsakes, Minneapolis prints, good notebooks, dorm-ready décor.
Salsas and spice blends, pottery and serving boards, cocktail syrups, patio plants, picnic totes.
You just finished a 5k. Stackable jewelry, bath soaks, a summer hat, a medal hanger to prove it.
Eight months. One easy step at a time.
You don’t have to be a runner in September to run or walk across that line in May. We’ll meet you where you are with monthly challenges, coaching and fit help from the Schuler crew.

Bring three sole sisters and your registration is half off.
Bring nine and you run or walk free — plus a reserved VIP table at the event.
Good questions.
Do I have to run the whole thing?
Not even a little. Run it or walk it, at whatever pace the conversation allows — the course stays open and the cheer squad stays loud until the last woman is in.
When does registration open?
Early bird registration is now open on Race Roster, with main registration launching February 1, 2027.
Can I register on race day?
Maybe. We’re capping this race at 300, so it may sell out. Get your spot reserved early.
What’s included with my entry?
The 5k, branded apparel, a swag bag from our partners, a light breakfast and smoothie bar, a momboss mimosa or coffee, and full access to the momboss Market.
Is the momboss 5k just for moms?
Not at all — it’s for women, moms or not. Bring your sister, your coworker, your neighbor, your book club. This one’s an adults’ morning, so leave the little ones at home and let this be your two hours.
How do I nominate someone for the momboss Grant?
Nominations open March 1, 2027. Three finalists are selected in April and present live on race morning, where the winner is announced.
Where do I park?
Parking details for The Machine Shop go out in the race week email. Rideshare drop-off is easy at 300 2nd Street SE.
