When Carissa’s son, Jack, was diagnosed with Down syndrome, he was given a less-than-warm welcome by an attending nurse. But life with Jack is nothing short of a celebration.

On a mission to change the way that babies like Jack are welcomed into the world, Carissa created Jack’s Basket, a nonprofit that offers a warm welcome to new parents and education to healthcare providers.
